Day 73


Day 73 (20th October)

What I wanted to write yesterday:
Revived my lapsed insurance policy today. I had to pay a fine, but more irritating was that I had to make 3 trips to the branch, some 30 kms away from my home. I am angry with the insurance company for not reminding me to pay the premium. But I am even more angry with myself for managing to forget this annual milestone. Easy to blame others, but I should take responsibility for the consequences of my failure.

Third Friday of the month and I had to attend the committee meeting. One of the members distributed rum-filled chocolates at the start; his belated birthday celebration. The dynamics of voluntary work is fascinating. Some get passionate, others are impassive. We discussed many matters - some grave, some trivial. We will be 30 next year and I proposed that we should celebrate by raising 30 Crores. I have sowed the seeds.

And now for today:
Applied a trick that I learned only yesterday. Ticket for an intermediate station maybe on waitlist, but confirmed if you are willing to pay extra (not much, really) and buy the ticket for the final destination of the train.

Day 1

Day 1 (31st December) Finally it is the last day of 2018. Days 100 - 95

Most of us make resolutions at the start of every new year. But they often fall by the wayside before even the first fortnight is over. There are 100 more days left for 2018 to end. And I plan to post one positive and feel-good experience each day. So, this blog will be regularly updated, every 2-3 days, if not daily. It is primarily for my own evolution. Of course, you can choose to read it and get entertained or inspired as you wish. Day 100 (23 rd September) Today was the Ganesh Visrajan finale and I punished myself by going to Girgaon Chowpatty. My last such experience was 6 years ago in 2012. The objective was to test my ability and agility with the camera in the crush of a huge crowd with occasional random and chaotic movements. And I passed my test successfully. I obtained some decent pictures in rapidly failing light. Day 99 (24 th September) The class reconvened today after 10-day break for Ganapati. I began a new topic and spoke without using PowerPoint....
