Day 44 (18th November)
My topic for this month's column is Artificial Photosynthesis. Started working on it and managed to write barely 250 words, way short of my target. But I am confident of meeting the deadline 2 days from now. Natural Photosynthesis is grossly inefficient and AP not only tries to mimic nature but also improve upon it. Advances in Nanotechnology and material sciences hold the key. AP has the potential to meet our future food and energy demands and at the same time sequester carbon dioxide, thereby mitigating global warming. It could be the holy grail that will extend our lease on this planet.
